Sometimes a single payment is all that stands between having a home and being homeless.

In an effort to help families keep their home, LCS offers zero interest loans and grants to help with rent, security deposit or mortgage payments in the City of Wilmington and New Castle County.

Participants in this program must meet eligibility requirements. Call 654-8886, for more information and to schedule an appointment.

LCS has specialized housing assistance programs for both Female-Headed and Spanish-Speaking Households in recognition of the unique needs of these segments of our population. We encourage all loan and grant clients to enroll in financial literacy programs provided by established providers or this service. These agencies include the YWCA (with which we have a special partnership, Interfaith Housing, West End Neighborhood House, and Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council (DCRAC).

Another program - Healthy Mothers/Healthy Babies - focuses on the emergency housing and nutrition needs of pregnant women and new mothers.

  LCS HOME (Housing Oriented Maintenance for the Elderly) program helps senior and disabled citizens remain independent by providing basic repairs for modest fees. Call 302-654-8886 for assistance.
