Clothing Bank of Delaware

A core ministry of Friendship House, the Clothing Bank of Delaware has three primary missions. Firstly, it serves as a clearing house for the collection and distribution of donated clothing and a delivery service to those community agencies in direct contact with individuals and families in need. Secondly, it provides entry level employment and training to women re-entering the work force. Thirdly, it creates volunteer opportunities for churches, businesses and community organizations.

Delaware Money School

The Money School, the signature program of the nonprofit Delaware Financial Literacy Institute, offers more than 600 free, no-hassle personal finance classes a year. Classes are held throughout the state.

Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council

Acts to ensure equitable treatment and equal access to credit and capital for the under-served populations and communities throughout Delaware through advocacy, education, legislation, and outreach.

Food Bank of Delaware

  • Provides low- and no-cost food to qualified feeding programs throughout the greater Delaware region;
  • Informs the greater Delaware community about hunger issues and food security;
  • Mobilizes support for anti-hunger efforts;
  • Trains and empowers under- and unemployed individuals to fill needed positions within the food service industry;
  • Develops and implements statewide feeding programs to assist low-income families, individuals and children.

United Way of Delaware

Founded in 1946, United Way of Delaware (UWD) works to advance the common good by focusing on the three building blocks to a good life: Education, Income and Health.
